SHIT, this is boring. I just listened to this for the first time and by the time Heather Duby's version of "I must have been blind" was playing it hit me - the incredible lack of emotion is what makes this compilation so tedious. Duby's cover stood out with its chorus and pretty much put the finger on what the problem is here: The songs of Buckley, known for extraordinary vocals, are reduced to 21st century "dream pop" or whatever genre-disguise you might wanna pick for this dull indie-sound with vocals mostly mumbled. Obviously I was expecting cover-versions that are coined by the artists particular style but they would've done better picking a broader range of bands. I bet there's tons of TB-inspired artists out there who would've been honored to contribute. Instead, we got "Tram" who, according to the booklet, weren't even really listening to Buckley when they were approached to participate in the project and "[...] chose 'Once I Was' from 'Dream Letter' just because it is a beautiful song.[...]" *Sigh*...
