According to Benmont Tench, the original vinyl versions of Wildflowers was mastered from CD, not from original tapes, as opposed to the 2016 reissue that is mastered from original tapes.

I can’t vouch for the American vinyl pressing (I haven’t heard one) but this German press is very high quality and is one of the most balanced and loud Records on vinyl I own. Hope they use this pressing as template for any reissue. Sounds so good.

Siramath
German pressings are always better sounding than the US pressings! I rarely buy US pressings unless it’s the only option. I own many RSD pressings and Record club pressings from Vinyl Me Please and Feedbands that are made in America, but I typically look for Analouge Production and a few other high quality companies when buying American made vinyl. I mostly collect Japanese pressed Vinyl. I have a friend who lives in Tokyo and he’s good at getting me NM vinyl with all the contents and the OBIs as well.A lot of the last made US LPs from the first vinyl era where made using recycled vinyl and you would get the album home and it would be full of pops and noise from improper filtration.

How about a repress of this album ? Possibly Petty's best album

Punind
Oh good. Then the NM copy I just paid $235 for doesn't feel that shameful.

Bil
Actually, that was the plan, but it has been scrapped.

Mamuro
Right?! This is a Great album - but $600?!

Jelar
There is a deluxe LP being released soon.
