Best of the guvnors......especially the 1971 tracks.....and the 1973 tracks from the doomed quadrophenia your ....Towshend s guitar work at its best and Moon what can you say? At their peak .... sorry that they didn’t persevere with Quadrophenia as a Who gig as with Tommy .... it would have worked ... but this cd is The Who as The Who... innovative exciting unpredictable loud articulate ... real Rock as statement of popular culture against Art as object of some passing fad .. a real poetic lyrical statement of loud aesthetic culture. .... but brief and doomed to failure

Is there any way to distinguish a counterfeit from the official release?

this is a fantastic sounding 2 cd set that comes with an awesome photo booklet for cd size, this was officially put out on the who.coms web site back in 2007 but this went oop very quickly and they did not print anymore, anyway i had all of these who shows as bootlegs for years BUT the sound on THIS SET IS MUCH MUCH BETTER and still great bootleg quality, none of these songs where touched up to much at all by pete when this was remastered, if you want to hear the who live in there glory days and you want the PERFECT live bootleg sound then buy this cd set as it is awesome, this consists of tracks from 7 different shows between 1969 and 1976.

At this point they NEED to release mixes of these complete shows. They are on the verge of retirement and all they been doing is releasing greatest hits after greatest hits complete LP and 45 box sets. I'm sick to death of all the Universal corporate nonsense. We have the stuff they're not going to gain new fans with this. And a cheap way just too make money. Put out something worthwhile ... LIVE SHOWS WITH MOON PERIOD... or more DVD'S of more film or video from the Moon years not Kenney Jones.
