Album

The album was recorded live while the two bands toured Europe together and was released only on cassette in 1990. The Who - Danish Treat live in Copenhagen, 21st August, 1972 A lovely quality audience recording from the '72 tour - quite a rarity. Yeah, their twelfth album, WHO, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey have created a wise, relevant record that would have startled their younger selves. Published on. December 6, 2019. Wisdom, perspective and humour. Its been 13 years since the bands remaining core of Townshend and Roger Daltrey last convened in the company name, and while 2006s Endless Wire contained moments of sublime glory, there were times when it felt somewhat obligatory. Nothing could be further from the truth on WHO. PMA-2026. The Who. Danish Treat CD, Unofficial. Substitute Recordings. On the Who's first album in 13 years, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend sound invigorated, even in songs that address 70-something concerns. Who is actually a fairly fun album about not particularly light subject matter - like whether the soul survives the body, or, more urgently, whether love and integrity survive feeling washed up. If a Dylan or Leonard Cohen approaches these topics, the mood is somber, but the Who have attempted something trickier, with a set of mostly hard-rocking songs that make them sound not a day over 30, addressing lyrical concerns that arent a day under 60. The first Who album in 13 years opens with a perfectly cynical Pete Townshend lyric: I dont careI know youre gonna hate this song. But its kind of hard to hate something that feels so familiar. Even the album cover is an acknowledgement of the records innate Who factor its by Peter Blake, who made the Whos similarly laid-out Face Dances sleeve as well as Sgt. Peppers and it contains nods to the bands idols Chuck Berry and Muhammad Ali and their past panels depicting Townshend smashing his guitar, a Union Jack, even Batman and Robin, since they once covered the Adam West Batman theme. The Whos twelfth studio album, WHO was released on 6 December 2019 in the following formats: Standard vinyl Polydor 7747053, Deluxe audiophile triple vinyl with rare demo Sand on LP3 Polydor 7748605, Standard CD Polydor 773036, Deluxe CD with three bonus tracks Polydor 0826465 and Cassette Polydor 0806462. The eleven-track album was mostly recorded in London and Los Angeles during spring and summer 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend and Dave Sardy with vocal production by Dave Eringa. The Who by Numbers functions as Pete Townshend's confessional singersongwriter album, as he chronicles his problems with alcohol However Much I Booze, women Dreaming From the Waist and They Are All in Love, and life in general. However, his introspective musings are rendered ineffective by Roger Daltrey's bluster and the cloying, lightweight filler of Squeeze Box

Strange why My Wife is track 2 and not 3? Had to laugh at the mess they made of the beginning of The Relay.

this is a decent audience recording from the whos danish show in august 1972, the over all sound is decent and this was pressed as a silver factory pressed cd, i have almost every show from this european tour from 1972.............

This is one of the better sounding audience recorded released bootlegs - recorded from the prime 1972 era - highly recommended for lovers of live Who!
