This is an LP well-deserving of CD reissue. Six memorable performances from 1954 find Bechet sharing the frontline with the great trumpeter Jonah Jones their ensembles on Chinatown, My Chinatown are extremely exciting. The other four tracks feature Bechet with French orchestras and this version of Roses of Picardy is quite wonderful. Highly recommended, this is Bechet at his best in his later years.
