He is heard with the Kansas City Seven, a small group taken from the Count Basie Orchestra which he had recently rejoined and consisting of trumpeter Buck Clayton, trombonist Dicky Wells, pianist Basie, guitarist Freddie Green, bassist Rodney Richardson, and drummer Jo Jones.
