Tracks 1, 2 and 5 were recorded way before at the old Wavelab Studio warehouse with Craig Schumacher, Nick Luca and Howe (1996 to 1997). Later some stuff was added to them up at Harvey Moltz's Sonic temple with John Parish riding shotgun.
Tracks 3 and 4 were recorded there by Head (with Harvey and Jessica assisting).
John Parish ended up mixing and editing all These tracks... a Producer by trade and design. Howe ... a co-producer by proximity.

Chore of Enchantment is a studio album by the alternative rock band Giant Sand. It was released in March 2000 by Thrill Jockey. The British music journalism publication NME praised the album's raw but tender empathy in songs full of unexpected departures. The album was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. All tracks were written by Howe Gelb. Overture 0:48. Well Dusted For the Millennium 3:47. Punishing Sun 3:13. However, the often rudimentary melodies outlined by Gelb's dry vocals don't help make Chore of Enchantment an incredibly accessible record to those outside the group's cult.
