Vespertine is the fourth studio album by Icelandic recording artist Björk. It was released on 27 August 2001 in the United Kingdom by One Little Indian Records and in the United States by Elektra Entertainment. Production on the album began during the filming of Dancer in the Dark, which was characterized by conflict between her and director Lars von Trier. Vespertine's sound reflected Björk's newly found interest in the music of artists such as Opiate and Console, who were also enlisted as producers. Listen free to Björk Verspertine. With her fifth studio release, and coming off the expansive, futuristic Homogenic, Björk set out to make an intimate album of micro-beats and minimalist production. The album was originally entitled Domesticika and Björk was incorporating everyday sounds in her production and writing songs about making sandwiches. She would create 80 of the Vespertine instrumentals herself, while the lyrics moved toward exploring greater depths of sex, love, and hibernation. At the finishing stages of Vespertine, Björk sent tracks to virtuoso producers Thomas Knak and Matmos. Покупайте и продавайте винил и компакт-диски, формируйте. An album singing the praises of peace and quiet, Vespertine isn't merely lovely it proves that in Björk's hands, intimacy can be just as compelling as louder emotions. Track Listing. Genre: Art Pop. Swans were harmed in the making of this album. Björk, in the last couple of years, has become one of my favorite singers ever. Her brilliant, outstanding, thought-provoking, and genre-bending music makes me come back for more every time. While Homogenic is innovative and powerful, Vespertine sees herself at her most sexiest, vulnerable, experimenting with more ambientlo-fi sounds instead of going down a more trip-hop route. Being internal is a form of hibernation, and I related it to winter, the sound of crystals in wintertime. Thats what I wanted this album to sound like.
