Vladimir Ashkenazy plays Beethoven with his own well developed, classically trained Russian keyboard training and robust style. Always finding the accent, the emphasis in the score, the Beethoven spirit. Never afraid to bring full finger weight and sonic output on the Steinway grand, which he plays for these recordings, captured on LONDONS full frequency range recordings, with analog master tapes. There is no overlap to Mozart, no influence of Scarlatti, or Bach here - this is vigorous Beethoven with a shimmering treble, full tone bass, controlled keyboard and superb playing technique.
