Brian Wilson is the debut studio album by Brian Wilson released in July 1988 on Sire Records. It was voted one of the best albums of 1988 by NME, and as part of its acclaim, garnered the nickname Pet Sounds '88 among some critics. The album has since been reissued on several formats with bonus tracks, and cited by some as a standout in Wilson's solo oeuvre. Carl Wilson is the self-titled debut solo album of The Beach Boys' band member, Carl Wilson. The youngest of the three Wilson brothers in the band, Carl Wilson was reportedly at this time unhappy with the progress being made by The Beach Boys creatively. So Carl, just as his brother Dennis had a few years earlier, signed a solo contract with James William Guercio's CBS-distributed Caribou Records, which four years prior put out brother Dennis's album Pacific Ocean Blue, and was also the current label. Wilson Phillips is the debut album by American vocal group Wilson Phillips, released in 1990. Five singles were released from the album, with Hold On, Release Me and You're in Love all hitting number one on the U. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Impulsive reached number four, and the fifth single The Dream Is Still Alive reached the top 20, peaking at number 12.
