The Wall Street Crash of 1929, also known as the Great Crash, was a major American stock market crash that occurred in the fall of 1929. It was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its aftereffects. By the winter of 1932, America was in the depths of the greatest economic depression in its history. The number of unemployed people reached upwards of 13 million. Many people lived in primitive conditions close to famine. One New York family moved into a cave in Central Park. In St Louis, more than 1,000 people lived in shacks made from scrap metal and boxes. There were many similar Hoovervilles all over America. Some economists argue the boom. These are some of the most significant economic factors behind the stock market crash of 1929. The very rich lost money on Wall Street but they could just about afford it. But the vast bulk could not afford any loss of money. This had a very important economic impact as these people could no longer afford to spend money and therefore did not buy consumer products. The impact of the Wall Street Crash: 1 12 million people out of work. 2 12,000 people being made unemployed every day. It was a temporary victory. Monday's opening bell unleashed a frenzy of selling that soon turned into an uncontrolled panic that continued for the rest of the trading day. It was like a bunch of crazy men. Every once in a while, when Radio or Steel or Auburn would take another tumble, you'd see some poor devil collapse and fall to the floor. This was the Crash, although few could see it at the time. The Market continued its decline but never as dramatic. Thirty billion dollars had been lost - more than twice the national debt. Wall Street Crash were an English 6-piece originally 8-piece vocal group, formed in March 1980 by Keith Strachan. They performed in three Royal Variety Shows, and appeared on many TV programmes in the 1980s, including The Morecambe and Wise Show and 3-2-1. History Brief: Black Tuesday The Stock Market Crash.
