Campanella was born in Naples in 1947. He won the Alfredo Casella Prize at age 19, after studying with Vincenzo Vitale. Michele Campanella Campanella, a pianist I'm not familiar with, is reported to be a specialist in Liszt and I suspect one would have to be to learn this material since so much of it wouldn't be appealing to the mainstream pianist. Unfortunately, his approach to the music tends to be rather generic and sometimes worse than that.
