This compilation is also known as "Thunderdome - Harder Than You", "Thunderdome 2001 Part 1" and "Thunderdome Black". The only name appearing on the artwork is "Thunderdome", and it is printed in relief on front cover.
It is the first Thunderdome compilation released in 2001 while "Thunderdome Grey" is the second and last Thunderdome released in 2001.
It comes in a 3-fold Digipak with opaque black disc trays and two magnetic strips on the ends of both inner panels to keep the package shut.
On this version of the release, the word "Thunderdome" and the catalog number are written on the spine from the top to the bottom (which is the same orientation as the spine of all other releases from the so-called "coloured series"). On the back of the cover, the background of the barcode has a plain white color. There is a different version with the spine written in the opposite direction (from the bottom to the top) and the barcode on a grey background.
On this version, the wizard face on CD2 is partly in a white-silver color. Some otherwise identical copies have this part of the artwork entirely in very dark grey and black, as on CD1.
Both CDs are named "No.1" and "No.2" respectively.
Track 1-12 starts in the last five seconds of Track 1-11.
Track 1-16 is listed as "The Signal"
Track 2-01 and 2-05 is officially one track. (Xtinction). For this release the intro is separated (2-01) from the track itself (2-05)

Track 2-15 has no writer credited.
Track 2-17 named "Power To Forget"This is the "mirror" image of Various - Thunderdome. They have similar but yet different artwork. The backside has a big white and small black portions. When the word "Thunderdome" on the front of the sleeve is read horizontally the opening of the cover is down rather than on the right-side. There is a small description "08-074072-40" on the back side of the sleeve.
