Album

Tell the Truth is hard-nosed and has that telltale Tik Tok vibe, replete with some innovative percussion work and a charging rhythm. Surprisingly, it's sort of a bright, 'warm' acid techno tune rather than twisted and evil like several of Jamie's other tracks. I like this a lot, though I see it somewhat as one of those good filler type of tunes i. one that you can use to set up an even more powerfulepic track. Lastly, we get MK303's track, and I really dig it. Listen and download 'Bekoob' by Metric on Radio Javan, your number one source for Persian music and entertainment. I agree with others here but only really like Colombian Gold and MK303 track TBH

Colombian Gold is a good tune.Solid pounding acidline, nice samples. The only issue i have with it is is it seems to drop out for 1/4 second at 5.23.This is very noticable and jarring to me.It also ends abruptly, I've added a fade out on my digital rip but It's a shame.Could really have been great.Wonky Veg isn't terrible but it's not all that good either.Vocal sample is overused, quite hard-housey.Tell the Truth is my personal favourite, usually enjoy Jamies work and this is pretty typical but a touch less grittier with the acid line compared to techno bitch or thats got to change.Groovy!Techno Evolution is hard and unrelenting.Brutal.A real dancefloor smash.A1 3.5/5A2 2/5B1 4.5/5B2 4/5

Nice review, I enjoyed reading that slightly different take. I also completely agree about the momentary "pause" in "Colombian Gold" around the time-code you mentioned, though I would say (1) there is an earlier instance of the same thing around 3:05-3:10 into the track, and (2) I think it is a deliberate percussion flourish by DDR. Again, I agree it is odd and a bit jarring, but I think it's just supposed to be an idiosyncratic flourish.I also completely agree the tune ends super-abruptly, even too abruptly. I prefer a bit of an outro with my tunes.Still, it's an acid fireball overall, as I think you agree.

"Colombian Gold" is a deliciously dirty tune with characteristic DDR stylings, a gratuitous torrent of sharp acid work, and a handful of unexpected/atypical percussion flourishes. In particular, I'm quite fond of the dark and dissonant drone that eases its way into the track both before and after the breakdown. What a filth bomb this one is. The record is worth it for this tune alone. If I'm entirely honest, I'm not over the moon about "Wonky Veg," at least currently. It's sort of a funky, bouncing acid techno piece, and some will surely dig it. But for my brain, it's not quite energetic or gritty enough."Tell the Truth" is hard-nosed and has that telltale Tik Tok vibe, replete with some innovative percussion work and a charging rhythm. Surprisingly, it's sort of a bright, 'warm' acid techno tune rather than twisted and evil like several of Jamie's other tracks. I like this a lot, though I see it somewhat as one of those "good filler" type of tunes (i.e., one that you can use to set up an even more powerful/epic track).Lastly, we get MK303's track, and I really dig it. I've tended like most of Matt's tunes, as his acid work is often wild and energetic; but the reason I enjoy this track so much actually has more to do with the kick drum and percussion scheme than the acid, oddly enough. Don't get wrong---the tune has a healthy dose of unbridled acid work, particularly after the main breakdown. But my brain is obsessed with the pounding, indefatigable drums and rumbling bassline in this one. It's just a chugging monster, really. And when that ripe acid joins the fray in full voice after the breakdown, the track is well and truly rocking. Have some of that.Quality second installment in the Overdose series.
