This rich R&B sampler reaches from Stevie Wonder's Someday at Christmas and James Brown's classic Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto ahead to the '90s turf of Kirk Franklin and the Family's There's No Christmas Without You and En Vogue's Silent Nite Happy Holiday Mix. Generous at 16 songs, Soul Train Christmas Starfest leans harder on the vocalists than on groups such as the Isley Brothers here caught groovin' through Special Gift. Rhino Records' Soul Train 1975 is a particularly strong entry in the series, capturing the point when Philly soul and funk were giving way to disco. It's highlighted by classic hits like the Ohio Players' Fire, AWB's Pick Up the Pieces, Minnie Riperton's Lovin' You, and War's Why Can't We Be Friends, but some of the lesser-known tracks are pretty good as well, making for a strong, entertaining sampler. Soul Train: The Dance Years is a series of compilation albums released by Rhino Records in 1999 and 2000, and spun off from the long-running syndicated television series Soul Train. Each album features 14 hit rhythm and blues recordings, said to have been featured on Soul Train, from a specific year of the 1970s. Ten albums were released, each one representing one year of the decade. Artist : Hollywood Disco Jazz Band Album Title : Don's Place, Soul Train. Song Title : Soul Train Theme '79. 레전드
