Album

The Rough Guide to Native American Music is a compilation album originally released in 1998. Part of the World Music Network Rough Guides series, the album features both traditional and modern Native American music ranging from canción ranchera to hardcore rap. Catherine Steinmann coordinated the project, Andrew Means wrote the liner notes, and Phil Stanton, co-founder of the World Music Network, produced and compiled the album. 2012's The Rough Guide to Native America is sometimes considered a second. Assembled in 1998, The Rough Guide to Native American Music isn't meant to be the last word on Native American culture, but it does offer an interesting, exciting variety of music by Native Americans. Variety is definitely the key word for this compilation, which ranges from the traditional to the contemporary. Some of the disc's more traditional offerings include R. Carlos Nakai's Cleft in the Sky, Primeaux & Mike's Healing Song, Peter Garcia & the Garcia Brothers' Basket Dance and the late Ed Lee Natay's &q. The Rough Guide To Native America. Rough Guide to Native America album review. To start off with, I like the Rough Guides brand. I have a shelf filled with Rough Guide books and theyve not let me down. So, thats a good start. Condor Meets The Eagle  has Spanish and a Native American spoken word over her singing, some traditional flutes, Spanish guitar and drums that create a unique song. Hard Time Killing Floor  is pretty straight up blues and is done so well again, quite political, and this YouTube video has the lyrics written underneath . Track 7 'Basket Dance' by the Garcia Brothers from the 1998 album The Rough Guide To Native American Music. As head singer at San Juan Pueblo
