Album

Mortal Kombat Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the compilation album which accompanied the 1995 film Mortal Kombat. Three songs from Stabbing Westward were included in the movie, but were omitted from the soundtrack: Lost, Lies and Can't Happen Here, all of which appear on the album Ungod. Metal vocalist Burton C. Bell is the only artist on the album to appear twice once with his primary band Fear Factory, and again with side-project GZR. The album features primarily electronic dance. Not all of the music on Mortal Kombat was used in the film. Instead, it contains a fair selection of songs that fit the atmosphere of the movie, as well as the tastes of the adolescent fans of the ultra-violent street-fighting arcade game. Mortal Kombat captures its essence, featuring a side of hardcore techno and a side of heavy metal. Although they may appear to be polar opposites, techno and metal aren't that dissimilar, propelled by aggression and relentless riffs. Mortal Kombat by The Immortals Lyrics. Listen free to Various Mortal Kombat - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

If I had to make a list of the most influential albums in my life, I would definitely put this compliation/soundtrack in it.It had a huge impact on shaping my music taste. Also it brings back a fond childhood memories.I remember it was 1996, I was 9 years old, Mortal Kombat had a premier in Poland, and it blew me away. One day my friend who lived in building next to me, came to me in the morning with few hundreds of Polish Zlotych (our currency), it was a shit load of money back in a day, especially for a kid.He said he met his father on a street, and he gave it to him as a gift, I knew that his father was not living with them since many years, I guess he was a drunk. As we were wandering through the neighborhood he bought tons of sweets for us (it turned out he was diabetic later on, he was lucky he didn't die of the sugar he ate that day :D), loads of comic books, and decided to go and by some music tapes in an old music store at Grunlwadzki Square in my hometown, Wroclaw. He bought few albums, among the others two Mortal Kombat OSTs, one for him and one for me, also he gave some money to me, he was so rich :DI came back home, hid the money in the piggy bank (which was a frog actually), and put a tape in my old HI-FI.It was the first time I've heard it since seeing the movie. It sounded sooo good!Next day in the morning someone rang a bell at my doors, my mother opened.I've heard through the doors of my room it was my friend's mother. She said that he sneaked last money she had out from her wallet, and went on a shopping rampage. He ate loads of sweets, and brought even more stuff home than he had with him when we split. He had no money left. She said she heard he gave me some money, and asked if I can give it back, because she doesn't even have a change for a bread.Of course I gave her back the money, but the tape stayed with me.This is how I got this album. I thought it is a pretty funny story :)This soundtrack cemented my love for electronic music. It also helped me to accept, and later on enjoy rock and metal.I love Fear Factory, I have Mutha's Dayout album which rocks, etc. After a year I have discovered The Prodigy, and the whole new world of UK music. Now I am a jungle and drum'n'bass head, but I love all different genresAnd all of that for sure started with this OST. It's brillant.Another soundtrack which pushed the idea of mixing 90s electronica with guitars to the next level, and had a huge impact on me was Spaw The Album.

It's so easy
This is some seriously good shit. Fear Factory, Gravity Kills, Type O, KMFDM, Orbital, Sister Machine Gun, and Psykosonik all on one disc. You couldn't ask for a better overall soundtrack. I never knew that there was a censored version and an uncensored version of this disc. There is no "Goa Trance" on this CD though. I don't know why the hell that's included as a descriptor. Industrial, Industrial Metal/Gothic Metal, and Electronica are what this disc has to offer and boy does it offer.Buy this one before you get the other ones.

Mikarr
Actually there is a tune produced by Juno Reactor which you could label as Goa, as they mostly did Goa and Psy Trance music ;)

Alsantrius
So only 828697.2, 828697-2, are not censored? What about other CD version?

EXIBUZYW
Talk about an album that needs to be released on vinyl!!

Nagor
Just got a copy with matrix code "4R TVT 6110-2 RE-1 SRC##04." Tracks 2 & 4 are censored on this version as well.

Brightfury
I have created Various - Mortal Kombat (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) for the version with explicit lyrics, including matrix code and other identifying characteristics. (I own a copy of each version.)I suspect the censored variant was the "sanitized" release for Wal-mart. The missing lyrics are (track 2 @ 1:34) "I'm [fucking] tired and I'm saying goodbye", (track 14 @ 0:54, 2:10, 3:25) "she's a [fucking bitch]", and (track 14 @ 1:20, 2:36, 3:51) "slam my face in the [fucking] door". (Not 100% that this list is exhaustive.)

[Original message obsolete, see update.]

Tenius
Don't be too sure... I've heard that there are copies that ARE clean but mine does not appear to be clean. I've read lyrics on the Internet that leave 'bitch' intact but replace 'fucking' with 'loving.' That doesn't happen on my copy either.

Jugore
My copy of the explicit lyrics release has matrix code "4R TVT 6110-2 SRC##01". Censored release is "4R TVT 6110-2 RE-1 SRC@@01".

Jothris
Can you post the matrix code around the inner hub of your CD? I am looking for the unedited version you have. If there is a difference between your copy and the matrix above, we can update the entry also.

Vudozilkree
Be careful, track 14 - What You See is cleaned out of 'bitch' words. UK release is not rated.
