Livin' for the Weekend: The Anthology is a compilation album by the Canadian hard rock band Triumph. The most comprehensive Triumph anthology ever issued at the time of its 2005 release, this two-CD set draws material from most of the albums the band had issued, as well as adding a previously unreleased cover of Love Hurts and two tracks from their 1983 appearance at the US Festival that was its own release in 2003 called Live at the US Festival. 24 Hours a Day 4:25. Very satisfying compilation of fairly obscure 1970s American soul music from Irma, a label from Italy, but apparently fully licensed. I like the way that the compilers sifted through the Modern Soul vaults and picked not-so-obvious tunes, some by very well-known recording artists such as Bobby Womack, Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, Gloria Gaynor, the Originals, and the Dells. There are also cuts from lead singers of famous bands who solo, such as Eugene Record Chi-Lites and General Johnson Chairman of the Board. Verified Purchase. Fantastic album. Read more
