And odd little adventure that founds its way to my door, filled with mid to late 60’s and early 70’s psychedelic sounds. The obvious slices of the pie you shouldn’t miss are “Magazine Woman” by Gary Walker & The Rain, a band with a rather complex history and worthy of your time, with the song being about falling in love, in a masturbatory fashion, with a girl in a magazine. The other bit of intoxication is “Reach Out” by Candida Pax, another overlooked psychedelic band from the early 70’s who will rock you back with evenhanded reverb and atmospheric chords designed to keep you couch-bound.

There’s no actual theme to this release, just a assemblage of songs that were gathered together and make for a great listen, or if you’re like me, a collector of such adventures, gather the songs that resinate best with you and save them to a playlist you love, where time and time again you’ll be able to sample that which dances effortlessly in your head. The other songs range from psychedelic folk to progressive music.

If anything, this compilation has presented me with a number of bands I need to explore further, and to that end, I was delighted to find this release.
