Superb Acid compilation, focusing on some of the more obscure classics. Great pressing quality and this 2013 repress has an excellent booklet containing a long passage on the early history of Chicago House music, shining a light through some of the myths that have grown up over the decades, and onto some of the key figures, tracks, places and events that are often forgotten or obscured. This could be the beginning of a book along the lines of Dan Sicko's "The Techno Rebels" about Detroit techno.

Also notable is the fact that this is the ONLY compilation on which you will find the oft-overlooked "Phuture Jacks" in its full length form, on vinyl. Otherwise it is only available on the original EP in its various pressings, with the associated risk of poor pressing quality, or on a couple of CD compilations..

Of course to get the full release, you will need to buy Vol.2 as well, which has a slightly higher proportion of tracks that have already been extensively released on compilations but still has the quality bar set to the highest possible setting.
