Different World is the 18th studio album by British rock group Uriah Heep, released in 1991 in Europe and Japan, but not in North America. Different World was the first Uriah Heep studio album from which no single was released in the UK. It is the second studio album to feature this line-up. Bass guitarist Trevor Bolder produced the album and has said that, although it was an experience, he found it tricky wearing the hats of both band membermusician and producer. The music on Different World is heavily influenced by Arena Rock and Pop Metal. It was the first album since 1980's Conquest, to feature all songs written by the band. Continuing an early-'90s decent into faceless mediocrity, Different World is yet another technically sound but artistically bland recording from Uriah Heep. Originally released in 1991, the more common Castle Records reissue featuring three bonus tracks hit stores in 1994. Joined by Trevor Bolder on bass, Lee Kerslake on drums, keyboard player Phil Lanzon, and vocalist Bernie Shaw, founding member Mick Box does nothing to enhance the reputation of his over-ripe project.
