is the debut album by the progressive rock supergroup U. released in May 1978 through E. Records and Polydor Records. It features John Wetton, Eddie Jobson, Bill Bruford, and Allan Holdsworth. The album was well received by FM album rock radio and by the public during the summer of 1978. The LP sold just over 250,000 copies by 1 September 1978, with further sales through the rest of the year. The album was. Jobson wanted UK to go on with more long instrumental pieces, while Wetton thought that performing shorter songs was a better idea. Jobson stated that one song in particular was the reason of the band to disband: When Will You Realize, a non-LP B-side featured on the Night After Night single, which Wetton would re-record with slightly different. The UK's Top 100 biggest artist albums of the week is compiled by the Official Charts Company, based on sales of CDs, downloads, vinyl and weighted audio streams. Congratulations to Paul Weller for achieving the feat of having No. Dami , 5 hours ago. If Kylie forthcoming album reach 1 shell join the list too John Smith , 1 day ago. It seems not many new albums have the stamina to stay at No. 1 for more than a week these days. Although they outsell everyone else for that ONE week are they true 'No. 1 albums' which go down to be remembered for years to come, I think not. David North , 1 day ago. One of the greatest fusion albums of all time, and certainly one of my absolute free to UK U. There are multiple artists under this name: 1 U. were a short-lived British progressive rock supergroup active from 1977 through 1980. In September 1976, singerbassist John Wetton formerly of the British Psychedelic band Family with Roger Chapman and Rick Grech and drummer Bill Bruford, both alumni of King Crimson, worked on forming a band with Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman. The project was stopped by Wakeman's label. Without carrying the same rhythms or cadences through each song, U. implements some differentiation into their music, straying from the sometimes over-the-top musicianship that occurs with the gathering of such an elite bunch. The melodious finish of such tracks as By the Light of Day and Alaska showcases the overall fluency of each member, and shows no signs of any progressive tediousness that could have easily evolved. The LP sold just over 250,000 copies by 1 September 1978, with further sales thru the balance of the year. UK 3 - U. Retrieved 2009-10-04. DPRP : Counting Out Time : UK - UK. For their first album, Capitol naturally wanted to lead with the big hit that broke them in America, so they grabbed I Want to Hold Your Hand and its B-sides, I Saw Her Standing There in the U. and This Boy in the U. The other nine songs were taken from their recent U. album, With the Beatles, with. The Beatles' Second Album'. Released: April 10, 1964. The Beatles' Second Album shows just how complex things were already starting to get. Released March 1978. More U. Danger Money. UK 3 u. Etichetta: Globe Music 5 9160-1. A friend of mine & I each bought the RSD 2018 U. repressing & both copies have a nasty crackle that can be clearly heard in the RH channel only most of the way through side 2 opening track Alaska. It's really quite prominent & very annoying. My friends turntable set-up is more revealing than mine & consequently on his Hi-Fi it sounds horrific
