In 1995 the Netherlands label Bvhaast released the horribly titled Uitti 2 Bows, a CD collecting solo improvisations recorded between 1985 and 1994. It revealed her talent as an improviser to those who hadn't had a chance to see her in a solo concert yet. Uitti 2 Bows expanded the palette of the cello and became an important listen for the serious student. The tracks move from microtonal introspective journeys to controlled outbursts. The shortness of these improvisations nothing over eight minutes seem to indicate she plans ahead and it sure feels that way: ideas are concise and well developed. Two pieces are multi-tracked, everything else is presented as it was performed including occasional chair and bow noises not intrusive.
