Album

October is the second studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was released on 12 October 1981 by Island Records, and was produced by Steve Lillywhite. The album was lyrically inspired by the memberships of Bono, the Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. in a Christian group called the Shalom Fellowship, and consequently it contains spiritual and religious themes. Their involvement with Shalom Fellowship led them to question the relationship between the Christian faith and the rock and roll lifestyle, and. October, originally with the working title of Scarlet, was released in the summer of 1981. In several countries, October was re-issued on 5 CD in March 1996 as part of the Island Master series. This Island Masters re-issue featured higher quality paper and extra pictures from the original LP's inner sleeve. The fact that the first album had a bit of success in America meant that the band toured over there for a long time to do the groundwork. When they came back and it was time to do the second album, nothing was ready ' Steve Lillywhite in Propaganda 5. Released Date . October does, however, nearly match its predecessor on several songs. Tomorrow is a beautiful ballad that gives Bono a chance to show his range, and nods to the band's homeland with its use of yearning Uilleann pipes, while the title track is a spectral, slow song that, unusually for U2, is grounded by a piano. Elsewhere, Scarlet is essentially an instrumental, the only lyric being Bono's repetition of the word Rejoice, one of a handful of vaguely religious references on the album. October wasn't an affirming hit and, by its own admission, the band felt pressure to deliver on its third album, believing Island could cut them loose if it bore similar results. In 1980 U2 released their first album: Boy. One year later they become with October. Their 3th album was released in 1983 and called War. In 2008 Edge. Покупайте и продавайте винил и компакт-диски, формируйте. October saw U2 rise to the challenge of proving to be more than a one-album wonder and creating new work under the pressure of growing expectation. The 12 months following the release of U2s debut album Boy were eventful, to say the least. Ronald Reagan had become President of the United States, the Iran hostage crisis ended, then Reagan himself was shot, as was Pope John Paul II. was shot and so, devastatingly, was John Lennon. It's because the band tries too hard to move forward. Bono, in particular, tries too hard to make big political, emotional, and religious statements, but the remainder of the band isn't innocent. In general, the music is too pompous, with the sound overwhelming the actual songs. But when U2 do marry the message, melody, and sound together, as on Gloria, I Threw a Brick Through a Window, and I Fall Down, the results are thoroughly impressive. October is the second album by Irish rock band U2, released in 1981. The album featured spiritual themes, inspired by Bono, The Edge, and Mullen's memberships in a Christian group called the Shalom Fellowship, which led them to question the relationship between the Christian faith and the rock and roll lifestyle. Quite boldly, the record placed an emphasis on religion and spirituality, particularly in the songs Gloria featuring a Latin chorus of Gloria, in te domine, With a Shou read more.
