The Best of 19801990 is the first greatest hits compilation by Irish rock band U2, released in November 1998. It mostly contains the group's hit singles from the 1980s but also mixes in some live staples as well as one new recording, Sweetest Thing. In April 1999, a companion video featuring music videos and live footage was released. The album was followed by another compilation, The Best of 19902000, in 2002. Tracklist: 1. Pride In the Name of Love 2. New Year's Day 3. With or Without You 4. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For 5. Sunday Bloody Sunday 6. Best Of 1980-1990. 02 November, 1998. Pride In The Name Of LoveLyrics. New Year's DayLyrics. With Or Without YouLyrics. The single disc Best Of peaked at No. 5 on the Canadian album charts and No. 4 on the US album charts. The combined Best OfB-sides reached No. 1 and No. 2 in Canada and the US, respectively. In the US, U2 had the largest opening week for a greatest hits collection for any group in the Soundscan era. Likewise, in Ireland, the Best Of holds the record for the highest sales in a single week since 1993 when IRMA started keeping records. The album reached No. 1 on Ireland's album charts and stayed in the charts for a total of 76 weeks. The Best of 1980-1990. Music Videos. Where the Streets Have No Name. The Best of 1980 to 1990 portrays U2's best work, in my opinion. With Prime, this album along with U2's entire catalogue is available at no extra cost. I play guitar and also bought the accompanying song book for this album, which makes the music all the more enjoyable. I love almost all the songs on the 1980 to 1990 album. The only song I don't care for is when love came to town - I love B. King, but the two talents don't seem to mesh well together. That's just my opinion and many others may disagree with me, which is cool too. Directed by Meiert Avis, Donald Cammell, Barry Devlin. With Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. A video companion to their 1998 greatest hits audio compilation, The Best of 1980-1990 is a career retrospective of U2's music videos from 1980 to 1990. 0Check in.
