Confess is the second album by Twin Shadow. Although its predecessor, Forget, reminisces over the past, Confess focuses on the present. George Lewis Jr. explained, This album is about being on the road and the way my relationships have changed with people. I'm spelling out my reality as it is right now. Twin Shadow gets into darker metal-R&B territory on I Don't Care whose superficially shocking admonishments to a morally suspect woman brings it awfully close to Dirty Diana territory. But I Don't Care, like most of Confess, doesn't sound ego-fueled or even hateful. This corrosive thread running throughout Confess helps illustrate the difference in intent between Twin Shadow's two simply titled albums.
