The complete session recorded by Tubeway Army on 10 January 1979 for the John Peel show on BBC Radio 1 and broadcast on the 16th of that month. Tracklist: Army is the debut album by Tubeway Army, released in 1978. When reissued in mid-1979, following the success of the follow-up Replicas 1979, the more commonly known cover art featuring a stylised portrait of Gary Numan was introduced. After its release, Numan opted to drop the Tubeway Army name and release music under his own name as he was the sole songwriter, producer and public face of the band, but he retained the musicians from Tubeway. The self-entitled album, Tubeway Army, has spent 7 weeks within the UK Charts Top 40. Achieving its highest position of , four weeks after entering the charts in August 1979. The album For Future Reference, commonly attributed with the band Dramatis, has not charted at all. Tubeway Army has had limited chart success with their 15 singleEP releases. Whilst five have appeared in the UK Charts, only one has had a significant showing.
