This album contains all my favorite Tommy Roe songs. It is a happy sing along record. Tommy Roe is one of my favorite performers. My daughter is into playing the older classic records instead of newer formats so I purchased this for her. She loves it. It is definitely going to college with her. It was in wonderful shape and a good price. Read more. This greatest hits album was styled in the same vein as Bobby Darin's The Bobby Darin Story 1961, with Darin piping in with descriptions of the songs prior to or after the musical track. In this case, Roe is interviewed, and the discussions are interesting and noteworthy. I didn't know Roe toured with the Beatles. Thomas David Tommy Roe born May 9, 1942 is an American singer-songwriter that had several chart topping songs in multiple countries during the 1960s including Sheila and Sweet Pea. He recorded 13 studio albums and 55 singles from 1960 to 1987. When Tommy Roe hit, his music packed a punch. Everybody sounded a lot like Buddy Holly. While interesting, I want to play the record for the music, not. 12 in a Roe a Collection of Tommy Roe's Greatest Hits 1981. Album by Tommy Roe. Sugar Sugar. is a cover of. Tommy Roe's greatest sides were his early rockabilly singles for the Mark IV and Judd label, including the tougher, original version of his first big hit, Sheila. Unfortunately, none of those are here, but everything else is, including the recut hit version of Sheila and teenybop favorites like Sweet Pea, Dizzy, Hooray for Hazel, and Jam Up and Jelly Tight. His 11-year run on the Billboard charts pretty much covers the 18 tracks collected here, a blend of Southern rock & roll and unaba
