I know they want to be classed as Doomgaze, and this album is the closest to justifying that, but honestly it is still post-rock with some gazy and perhaps doomy frills. Tunnel Blanket serves as a perfect soundtrack to both the world's turmoil and its imminent collapse. Tunnel Blanket, the bands second proper album, sees a dynamic shift in sound, and ultimately, gives them a striking intrigue theyve so long gone without. Its strange, in a way, that in removing so much, theyve actually gained. After all, sweeping movements and crushing climaxes arent all too common, as ambiance and subtle passages make up the bulk of Tunnel Blanket.
