Had Enough is a song written by the Who bassist John Entwistle, and featured on their eighth studio album, Who Are You. It was also released as a double A-sided single with Who Are You, making it Entwistle's second single A-side, after Postcard from Odds & Sods in 1974. Like 905, Had Enough was planned to feature on a rock opera in the process of being written by Entwistle, but was never finished. It was written a long time before work was started on Who Are You. Who Are You' was released as a double A-side with John Entwistle's 'Had Enough'. On 4 May 1978 Jeff Stein filmed a promo for 'Who Are You' at Ramport Studios in Thessaly Road, Battersea. For the promo guitar, piano and drum overdubs were all specially re-recorded. This promo has become one of the most-watched of Who videos and still remains a firm favourite if only for the hilarious interaction between Keith Moon and the rest of the band. Who Are You was spun out of the night that Townshend, already drunk after hours of financial haggling, half-recognized two members of the Sex Pistols in a bar: that is, he thought either Steve Jones or Paul Cook was Johnny Rotten. Corrected, he felt even more confused: Why cant I see straight. The neat double meaning of the album title - the Who are you - does not outlast the title song. In Had Enough, the singer tries to get mad - Ive had enough of being nice, he chants at the beginning Here comes the end of the world, he yells as the tune ends - but he cant do it. The song limps, the singer fades. Completa la tua Collezione su The Who Had Enough: I've had enough of bein' nice I've had enough of right and wrong I've had enough of tryin' to love.
