Raw & Alive: The Seeds in Concert at Merlin's Music Box is the fifth album by the American garage rock band, the Seeds, and was released on GNP Crescendo in May 1968 see 1968 in music. It was marketed as a live album, and actually was recorded raw, but all of the album's contents were completed in a studio. The album marks a return to the band's energetic punk sound that previously garnered them national acclaim. Upon release, however, the album, and its accompanying single, Satisfy You, failed to. As they unwittingly proved with their overly ambitious concept album Future, the Seeds were at their best when they kept things simple and to the point, and in 1968, uncertain where to go next after Future tanked, the band decided it would be a good idea to document their energetic live show with a concert album. At the time I thought it was a great album. it's true that they just recorded it in a studio and then added the crowd sound afterwards,I'd have to say it was a bit shady. As for the bonus tracks, some are a bit seedy and I could have done without some of them.
