Despair is the tenth studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López, released January 26, 2009 by Willie Anderson Recordings. Prior to beginning the studio sessions for The Mars Volta's The Bedlam in Goliath, Rodriguez-Lopez recorded Despair, inspired by his experiences in and around Jerusalem and using material culled from field recordings and studio experimentation. The record was pressed on white vinyl. Every track and the album itself is named after a film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. It says nothing about our belief in an afterlife or lack thereof. There is simply no evidence that dead people wander aimlessly around old houses, and no known scientific principle that would make it possible. But a lot of people have seen ghosts. A lot. There are certain spots and buildings where separate, unrelated witnesses have reported ghosts independently, without having talked to each other or being aware of the area being haunted. It appears that science has stumbled across the reason for it. It has nothing to do with the supernatural, but the answer is almost as weird. Issues concerning scientific explanation have been a focus of philosophical attention from Pre-Socratic times through the modern period. However, recent discussion really begins with the development of the Deductive-Nomological DN model. This model has had many advocates including Popper 1935, 1959, Braithwaite 1953, Gardiner, 1959, Nagel 1961 but unquestionably the most detailed and influential statement is due to Carl Hempel Hempel 1942, 1965, and Hempel & Oppenheim 1948. Scientific Explanation, Darmstadt, Hessen. This science page is dedicated to show science and scientific phenomena. People often look for signs of extraterrestrials on Mars, but in the case of a crashed alien spacecraft, Johns Hopkins scientists have a simpler explanation. Here's the scientific explanation for that 'alien spaceship' on Mars. What some say looks like a crash site is evidence of volcanism, not Vulcans. An 8-mile diameter crater being infilled by the Medusae Fossae Formation on Space Agency. What's a scientific explanation that you believe will be revised or updated in the coming decades What are the most interesting questions for which there is no scientific explanation as of now What are some scientific explanations for phenomena that are generally considered supernatural What is the science behind crystal healing. The Catholic Church has no explanation and has officially declared it a miracle. The Official Vatican line on visions is skepticism. You're right to be cautious. The explanation Parkinson's involves abnormal functioning of dopamine, a neurotransmitter that can evoke hallucinations. And when it comes to the common experience of reliving moments from one's life, one culprit might be the locus coeruleus, a midbrain region that releases noradrenaline, a stress hormone one would expect to be released in high levels during trauma. Altogether, scientific evidence suggests that all features of the near-death experience have some basis in normal brain function gone awry. Moreover, the very knowledge of the lore regarding near-death episodes might play a crucial role in experiencing them-a self-fulfilling prophecy. SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATIONScience and scientific knowledge achieved high status in twentieth-century Western societies, yet there continues to be disagreement among scientists and those who study science historians, philosophers, and sociologists of science about the meaning of scientific explanation. Indeed, the use of the word explanation has been the subject of heated debate Keat and Urry 1982. Source for information on Scientific Explanation: Encyclopedia of Sociology dictionary. While you might want to file this under 'science ruins everything,' we're at least somewhat encouraged to know that it's technically possible to fart a ghost
