The Sweet Jane chords of Flowers Buried Alive dovetail nicely with the box sets Velvet Underground covers, and both releases prove that Echos crystal days havent shattered yet. From the piano-flute-bowed bass backing that opens Ruby Tuesday and the fuzzed guitar and punchy horns matching Mick's snarl on Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow it's a whole, exciting new world for the Stones. In today's video, we chat about the Stones' version of Yesterday and Today, and why it's really not that bad, but it probably could have been better. Flowers was dismissed as a rip-off of sorts by some critics, since it took the patchwork bastardization of British releases for the American audience to extremes, gathering stray tracks from the U. With its zany title, Keith Richards' raw guitar, pounding piano and blaring horns, the Stones have never sounded more progressive and apocalyptic. Three tracks had never been released. So I have a copy of this album, and.. Well review wise it sounds just fine, very nice, nothing special. Except it is special, because I have the picture disk variation. And that's not all.. I have a picture disk of the Mexican-issue of Nirvana's Nevermind, except it plays flowers.. There is no matrix to speak of, just a scribbled " 25084" on the runout. Having googled this, I have seen it VERY RARELY crop up and I'm under the impression it's a one-of-a-kind. Ordered it for £10 from someone who didn't bother to play-test it because, quote, "picture disks always sound like shit anyway" :)

That's a nice story ... I have hundreds of Stones records in my collection that I never listened to, why should I listen to a Flowers pirate-pressing??? Congratulations on your Nevermind-Flowers.
