Phase III is the third studio album by the American singing group The Osmonds, released in 1972. The album reached number ten on the Billboard Top LPs chart on March 11, 1972. Two singles released from the album, Yo-Yo and Down by the Lazy River, reached No. 3 and No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, respectively. This album was released in 1971 and is the Osmonds highest ranking album that peaked at 10. Most of the album features lead vocals from Merrill Osmond. Some songs have Donny Osmond singing with Merrill like Yo-Yo. My personal favorite is Business. That song has Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Donny Osmond singing a solo part. The song that got the highest peaking chart position is Yo-Yo which was 3 on the charts. The most popular song in the album is Down. The Osmonds' third album scarcely got a fair throw of the dice, being buried almost immediately by the success of Crazy Horses, which itself demanded such a swift long-playing follow-up that Phase III scarcely had time to grab a gold disc before it was trampled out of sight. In truth, it did not deserve such a fate. Phase III is the eighth studio album by the American singing group The Osmonds, released in 1972. Phase III was, as its name implied, a shift in direction for the band, after its 1960s era as variety-show child stars and the band's early breakthrough as bubblegum pop idols, much of this album featured the band moving into a hard rock sound and writing more of their own material.
