Yeah, although, I have seen a lot of copies with no Picture cover, which I assume are the re-presses.....I got my Picture Sleeve copy from UK mail order company "Beat Street" in about 1989 - think it was £8.

Being someone who owns a copy of the 'original' press from the 80s and also grabbed the chance to get the 'repress' in the early 2000s, having compared the two pieces of vinyl, I find it almost impossible to distinguish the two to the point of believing that the repress is either a) a reissue of original unsold stock, or b) a repress from the original plates, evidenced by the fact that the run out groove bleeds into the silver label art seemingly exactly the same way as the original, along with the matrix/runout etchings too. Either way it seems to me that the only benefit of owning an 80s issue is the cool sleeve art that is missing from this stock die cut sleeve issue. I'm just glad I marked my two newer copies when I bought them as I didn't want to mistakenly tear up my original copy when playing this gem of a record.If anyone else can see any authoritative way to tell, please feel free to post a correction.As far as the tracks themselves, I can only echo the comments others have posted regarding the 'original' release, Fresh Mess is/was one of my favourite LA tracks from that time and one of my favourite hip hop cuts of all time, raw but smooth and from a time when tracks like these didn't have to be labelled 'turntablism' for people to understand, it was all just hip hop and you knew it was good.

Hi Fizza. There's some uncertainty around these listed versions, as all are very similar (bar the 1st press with no RE in the etchings) and perhaps there are more releases than those listed. If you look at the above image for this repress, you will see that the two 'T's' of 'THE' in the artists name are lined up with the top bar of the first T being directly square above the bottom second 'T'. The other issues line up the slanting body of the two T's, not the top bar. Have a look and you will see what I mean. The funny thing is however, I received this version in an original jacket!!!! Either the seller was trying it on, or there are more early represses than listed. Either way, its a f*&&*^^ing headache!!!! Cheers, DYLAF
