No wonder they call this album A DRAMATIC EXPERIENCE This is the first album that L. and Lenny are on. One of my favorite songs, You Could Become The Very Heart Of Me, with L. and Lenny trading off the lead, is on this album, along with the sensual Now You Got Me Loving You. However, in A Dramatic Experience, they made an album full of material that really gave their acting chops the chance to shine as well as their amazingly skilled vocals. Even the album artwork offers some drama the inside of the original gatefold sleeve could make you shiver. For we are veering towards concept album territory here, even if The Dramatics didnt quite go the whole hog or should that be goat. Some of these songs tackle the manifestation of evil in their times and, come to that, in our times too. The Dramatics are a soul music vocal group, formed in 1962 with the name The Dynamics. They changed their name by 1967, when they garnered their first minor hit All Because of You. However, the group didn't break through until their 1971 single, Whatcha See Is Watcha Get. Their members at this time were Ron Banks, Wee Gee Howard, Elbert Wilkins, Willie Ford and Larry Demps. Shortly after the success of their first album, Howard and Wilkins left the group.
