Текст песни: When you're weary, feeling small When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough And friends just can't be Notes Bridge Over Troubled Water marked the end of a lot of things, including the '60s, the partnership of one of the biggest acts of the era, and that duo's reliance on the folk-rock sound they helped invent. But boy did they go out with a bang. The 1970 album is the most ambitious of Simon & Garfunkel's career, in both songwriting and production. Among other things, it prefigures Simons knowledge of and affection for international sounds and styles, a toolkit that would serve him well on 1986's Graceland. Bridge over Troubled Water is a song composed by American singer-songwriter Paul Simon and recorded by Simon & Garfunkel. Produced by the duo and Roy Halee, the song was released as the follow-up single to The Boxer in January 1970. The song is featured on their fifth studio album, Bridge over Troubled Water 1970. Art Garfunkel performs lead vocals over a piano accompaniment exhibiting strong influence of gospel music. The original studio recording employs elements of Phil Spector's Wall of. Текст песни The Dramatics Bridge Over Troubled Water. When you're weary, Feeling small, When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all, I'm on your side, When times get rough, And friends just can't be found. you're on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort you I'll take your part When darkness comes And pain is all around Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind Sail on silver girl Sail on by Your time has come to shine All. When youre down and out When youre on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort you Ill take your part When darkness comes And pain is all around Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Sail on, silvergirl Sail on by Your time has come to shine All your dreams are on their way See how they shine If you need a friend Im sailing right behind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind. 1969 Words and Music by Paul Simon. Their final studio album, Bridge over Troubled Water, was released that year and became their most successful, becoming one of the worlds best-selling albums. Paul Simon wrote Bridge Over Troubled Water while his partner Art Garfunkel was filming in Europe for the black comedy Catch-22 that starred Alan Arkin. But after all these years, as a listener, you cant imagine anyone else but Art singing this beautiful song. When Simon first presented the song to Garfunkel it had just two verses and the singer suggested Simon pen another verse, which he did. Bridge Over Troubled Water has since sold over 25 million copies worldwide making it one of the best selling albums of all-time. Bridge Over Troubled Water is the most celebrated song of celebrated songwriter Paul Simon's career and the most successful song associated with the very successful 1960s duo Simon & Garfunkel. Simon, who wrote nearly all the team's material, came up with it in the late '60s while composing songs for their fifth album. Though they thought enough of the song to title their new album Bridge Over Troubled Water, it was CBS Records president Clive Davis who insisted it be released as the LP's leadoff single the duo didn't think using a ballad as a first single was a good idea
