The video, released in 1986 to promote the New Voice New Mix re-recording, features three children one of them, is played by voice actor Mark Heatley miming the song. Behind a curtain, Smith, Tolhurst, and Dempsey in his only appearance with the band since his 1979 departure, appear as the children's shadows, with red eyes. The Cure are a rock band which formed in 1976 in Crawley, England, United Kingdom. The band originally consisted of Robert Smith vocals, guitar, Porl Thompson guitar, Michael Dempsey bass and Lol Tolhurst drums, with the band's lineup overgoing several changes throughout the years and Smith remaining as the only constant member throughout the band's history. In 1977, The Easy Cure auditioned for Hansa Records and received a recording contract worth 1000. A year later, following disagreements about the direction the group should take, the newly named The Cure were signed as a trio minus Porl Thompson by former Polydor records scout Chris Parry's new Fiction label distributed by Polydor.
