Science Fiction is the fifth and final studio album by American rock band Brand New, released on August 17, 2017 through Procrastinate Music Traitors. The album is the band's first in eight years since 2009's Daisy. The album's title and track listing were officially revealed on August 17, 2017 after several weeks of speculation, hints and leaks, with its physical release on October 20, 2017. It was both a critical and commercial success, being met with universal acclaim and becoming Brand New's. The Brand New Heavies are an acid jazz and funk group formed in 1985 in Ealing in west London. Centered around songwritersmulti-instrumentalists Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy, the core members of the group since its founding, Brand New Heavies are best known for a string of successful singles in the early 1990s featuring N'Dea Davenport as lead vocalist. The Brand New Heavies began in the 1980s as an instrumental acid jazz group called Brothers International. The Brand New Heavies is the debut album by British acid jazz and funk group The Brand New Heavies. After signing with Acid Jazz, the band released People Get Ready as a vinyl single backed with Gimme One Of Those. Their next release, in 1990, was the single Dream Come True featuring Jay Williamson, then known as Jay Ella Ruth, on vocals.
