It Just Is was recorded at Goldust, but without any outside help and released back on Nick's own label, Woronzow. The Bevis Frond is an English rock band formed in 1986 in Walthamstow, London, England. The band is fronted by Nick Saloman and has recorded many singles and albums on various independent labels. Saloman was originally in a band known as the Bevis Frond Museum in the late 1960s, and in the 1970s, whilst at college, he played guitar with a duo called Oddsocks. They released one album, Men of the Moment. In 1979 he formed a band called the Von Trap Family, who released the first single on his own. It's great for longtime fans who want their music just like that, but newer ones would be better served with other, more distinct releases. All this said, a couple of fine numbers do surface from time to time that are worth more listens down the road. Day One has a stately feeling to it, thanks to the organ and keyboard work matched against gentle guitar work and steady drumming Saloman's lyrics serve up some nice images here as well, opening with, Judgment Day passed quietlyNothing changed and no one died. It Just Is, 2016. My cover of the Bevis Frond classic New River Head is now up anchoring an EP on . Cheers to Nick S. for letting me pay tribute as a fan of many years. My other archive EP Nick Bensen Leaves is up too. And for clip 2, how's this for obscure World Of Oz came from Birmingham and made just one album and a handful of singles for Deram. Here they are on a show called 'Samedi Et Compagnie' in 1968 doing 'Jack', which was the B-side of their first 45, 'King Croesus' and is a great piece of poppsych. Somebody went to the trouble of posting this but didn't even bother to find out what the track was called. I dunno, people eh. Anyway, enjoy it
