Pepper, and The Beatles white album that the mono versions always possessed. Finally after 50 years their catalog has some consistency. By now I believe I have their songs on CD in mono and stereo, in the US and UK versions, and am now awaiting a more mono compatible remix of some of the earlier albums as time allows. The Beatles early releases were on the Vee-Jay, Swan and Tollie labels, before EMIs US counterpart, Capitol, sat up and took notice. I missed out some of the minor, unofficial singles there were loads released in the US, particularly in 1964 and 65. Ill take another look and see if I can source some better info though, as Id like the discography to be reasonably comprehensive. Joe Saturday 14 May 2011. OK, the Hamburg-era singles have now been added, along with artwork for all. The Hamburg recordings were reissued a number of times in various guises throughout the 60s, so I havent included absolutely everything, but these are all the key works

Why did I purchase this collection?
What was I thinking?
Why didn’t that voice in my head that seems to shout at me endlessly have nothing to say that day?

My collection is Mint, only one of the records was ever played, and that was to assess the sonic quality of the music. Regarding that aspect, I’ll certainly say that the one record I played for comparison sounded far better than the actual Beatles’ single from the era, meaning some time and effort was taken with the recording and pressing.

What can I tell you, the sheer volume of this assemblage is staggering, add to that the sheer size of this collection makes it nearly impossible to store, and it’s rather easy to damage simply by looking at it. It’s one of those things that I thought I’d want, that I thought would be fun to play with, though with the value instantly skyrocketing, all those plans few out the window. Yes, I have this conversation with myself over and over, “You bought it to play it, you purchased it to enjoy it.” But the collector in me won’t let me. I’ve taken this assemblage and had it professionally re-sealed in thick plastic, it’s about the best I can do. I’ve had the collection up for sale, but there are no takers, where this sort of feels like those who have it have it, and no one else really wants it, ‘less of course they’re speculating that the price will rise, which it has, though no one’s interested in purchasing it. So here I have this gem that requires special care, people don’t swing by my digs anymore, so there are no real bragging rights attached to it, it just is what it is.

I whole heartedly implore you not to purchase these packages, especially the picture disc series, admire it from afar, dream on it, but don’t purchase it, it’s a total waste of money. If it’s the music you wanna hear, there are countless singles collections on CD, where with a great deal of ease and no fuss you can hear all the Beatle singles in order without having to spin a record that for the most part lasts less than two minutes.
