The album was not released in the United States, but in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, South Korea and Australia. The Beatles' Ballads' was released worldwide but not in the US, strangely in 1980. It was a big hit in Canada and in Australia, and it featured 20 of the Beatles best love songs and ballads, of course. Of particular interest is the cover art which was originally proposed for the cover of the Beatles album to be called A Doll's House. However, another rock group called Family released an album called Music in A Doll's House at the same time so the Beatles scrapped that title and instead released their double album in a simple white sleeve with only the words The Beatles on the cover.
