The Beach Boys are an American rock band formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. Distinguished by their vocal harmonies and early surf songs, they are one of the most influential acts of the rock era. The band drew on the music of jazz-based vocal groups, 1950s rock and roll, and black R&B to create their unique sound, and with Brian as composer, arranger, producer. First off, let's clear up some discographical confusion: this album was originally titled Live in London and released overseas in 1970. When it was issued in the States in 1976, the title was changed to Beach Boys '69 further obfuscating matters, the performances were actually recorded in 1968. Brian Wilson is not present on these tracks, in which the group combine 1965-1968 hits like California Girls, Good Vibrations, and Darlin' with much less celebrated songs from their late-'60s LPs. The Beach Boys is the 25th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on June 10, 1985. Produced by Steve Levine, the album is the band's first recording after the drowning death of founding member Dennis Wilson. It was also the band's first album to be recorded digitally and the last released by James William Guercio's Caribou Records. For The Beach Boys, the band hired Culture Club producer Steve Levine, who took them into the world of drum machines, synthesizers, sampling, and hi.
