Demonic is the seventh studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. Released in 1997 with original members Chuck Billy Vocals and Eric Peterson Guitar, the record also features artists Derrick Ramirez Bass, Gene Hoglan Drums and Glen Alvelais Guitar. Ramirez was previously the band's first guitarist although here he is performing on bass guitar, and Alvelais had previously performed with Testament on the 1993 live album, Return to the Apocalyptic City. Demonic features eleven tracks, marking a deviation from previous albums to a much darker death metal sound mirroring the album's exorcism theme. The album was reissued on January 8, 2008 under license from Burnt Offerings via label Prosthetic, featuring new cover artwork. The Album Demonic Refusal is the first song. The beginning of this song begins with the satanic cheese. We hear the 9. 6The Album Demonic Refusal is the first song. 6 clip, which kind of ruins the mood to be honest. The guitarists make effective use of that wah pedal and other effects, harmonization, and just plain inspiration. It brings that creeping sensation to the table that the previous two tracks hinted at, but just couldnt deliver. Jun-Jun receives my vote for the best song off of Demonic. Not only that, it is one of Testaments best songs period. Like Together As One, Murphy makes use of his wah pedal and kicks some buttocks. Testament - Demonic 1997. in album Testament - Demonic 1997. The title is most appropriate - Demonic actually sounds demonic. Testament had turned to more of a grindcore-influenced style and incorporated industrial touches, and the result is the heaviest, most evil-sounding album of their career. Even if you don't pay attention to the CD's dark lyrics, its sound alone will scare you. Compare ferocious gems like John Doe, The Burning Times, and Hatreds Rise to Trial by Fire from The New Order, and you'll see how much heavier Testament had become. The lyrics deal with occult themes more like their 1980s efforts instead of the political aspects. This is the most death metal that Testament have ever been, with Chuck Billy experimenting with death growls and the music having death metal riffs. This album also marked the first time, as Testament, that the band used the old Legacy pentagram graphic
