From the release notes: Computer Experiments Volume One is a recording of three different executions of a microcomputer self-composing program. The program, called Pink Tunes, was written by John Simonton of PAiA Electronics Inc, and is an application of the stochastic process to electronic music. In simple terms, the computer is given a narrowed field of notes, durations, harmonies and the like from the total spectrum of all possibilites. Listen free to Synergy Computer Experiments Volume 1. Computer Experiments Volume 1 was the companion album to Audion and was also released in 1981. Originally this album was only available via mail order although it was subsequently released on CD in the mid eighties. The album contains three soundscapes, which were written by utilizing a self-composing computer program, hence the title of the album. The album was seen as being not only adventurous but also cutting edge at the time. As with all the reissues in this series the album has been remastered and contains sleeve notes by Larry Fast.
