Land of the Dead It was he, who broke the oath which Isildur, the son of Elendil, took from the battle of Dagorlad, and thus sealed the curse which had bound him and his people to undead, bounded forever in the land of the dead beyond the Dimholt- Porte in the White Mountains. Mirdautas Vras truly is epic. Oath Bound is the sixth full-length album by Summoning. Not counting certain pieces from the soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings, Mirdautas Vras is the first song ever to be written entirely in the Black Speech of Mordor. The songs Might and Glory and Land of the Dead both feature a self-sung choir chorus similar to that which was used on the Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame song Farewell. Being 21 seconds longer than Dol Guldur, this album was Summoning's longest release before the release of. May 14th, 2010. Summoning - Oath Bound. The album title was selected because of its relationship with the Silmarillion theme the album has, which is in reference to the Oath of Fëanor. A mini-CD was supposed to be released in 2007 containing at least one song that did not have space on Oath Bound, due to Summoning not wanting the album to go over 70 minutes. Oath Bound dials back slightly on the Ren Faire aspects, but fans expecting a complete return to the pulverizing sound of Lugburz or Dol Guldor may be confused yet further by this album. The goth metal elements always present in the background of their sound are to the fore in these eight lengthy pieces, which are primarily instrumental and dominated by thick arrangements of electronic keyboards playing heavy, blocky chordal drones over the thudding rhythm section and under the folkish melody lines.
