Lambert the Sheepish Lion is a Disney animated short film that was released in 1952. It was directed by Jack Hannah. With Sterling Holloway, June Foray, Stan Freberg, James MacDonald. A delivery stork mistakenly delivers Lambert, a lion cub, to a flock of sheep. The mother won't let the stork take him back, so Lambert is raised as a sheep, but he just doesn't fit in. Sterling Price Holloway, Jr. January 4, 1905 - November 22, 1992 was a perennial voice actor for the Walt Disney Studios, who began with a cameo role in Dumbo and later became a Disney legend as the voice of Winnie the Pooh. Holloway was named after Confederate General Sterling Pap Price. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia in 1905. After attending the Georgia Military Academy in College Park, he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Stork played, as in Dumbo, by Sterling Holloway delivers a lion to a family of sheep. While his mother takes a liking to him, he gets teased by the Sheepish Lion is a Disney animated short film that was released in 1952. And the sheep, too, is happy to have finally had a child. Lambert the stork finds the lion cubs name in his notebook. Lambert is not a sheep, he is a lion. Lets see, he is from south Africa. But this time, he makes a mistake, as he delivers a lion cub to a herd of sheep. One of my favourite Disney shorts, with the Stork from 'Dumbo', voiced by Sterling Holloway, making a welcome reappearance, and he delivers a lion cub by mistake to Mrs Sheep who certainly is not planning to give up her little one. So Lambert grows up 'sheepish' and cowardly, until his adopted mother runs into danger, and at which point, he truly becomes what he is destined to be. The 8-minute film focuses on Lambert, a lion cub that is mistakenly left with a flock of sheep by a stork.
