Down the Road is the second and last studio album by Stephen Stills' band Manassas. It was Stills first album since the 1968 Super Session not to be certified Gold. Perhaps they should have done so before recording this disc, for there is little here to recommend it. Two cuts, Chris Hillman's Lies and Stephen Stills' Do You Remember the Americans, are of some worth, but the rest come off sounding like lame attempts at Latin-inflected blues jams with embarrassing lyrics to boot. Rolling Stone was especially critical, saying t would be sad to think the people involved put this record out not because of business pressures but because they were proud of it.
