The original line up consisted of long time friends Jared Phelps, Andrew Milne and Sammy Harper who found influences in 60s psych rock. In Fall 2008 the trio released their first full-length album Free & Easy, which spawned shows throughout the Ogden and Salt Lake areas. September 2009 saw the addition of Dylan Roe on second guitar. Since the spring of 2010, Spell Talk has become one of the bigger fish in the small pond that is Salt Lakes music scene and for good reason. In February they won first place at the 2010 CWMAs.
