Sohail Rana is a Pakistani music composer for films and television. He was introduced by actor Waheed Murad in Pakistan film industry and gained popularity when singer Ahmed Rushdi sang his compositions in such films as Armaan 1966 film and Doraha 1967 film. He is now based in Canada. Sohail Rana was born in Agra, British India, in the home of Urdu poets Mr. The family moved to Pakistan soon after the independence of Pakistan in 1947. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. Sohail Rana born 1938 is a Canada based Pakistani composer most widely known for writing the scores to several Pakistani films, including Armaan. Sohail Rana, is the son of renowned Indian Urdu poet Rana Akbar Abadi, was born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh state in India, in 1938. Sohail moved to Mississauga, Ontario in Canada in 1990 where he has opened a school for singers and musicians.
